This door is not actually a restoration, but a custom door made from Spanish Cedar (extremely rot and insect resistant) for one of the older homes in the Garden District of New Orleans. The door is 7 feet tall by 42 inches wide, which is not standard, but is not uncommon in older houses. We made all the profiles and panels to match what was in the rest of the house.

Here is a restored door, also in the Garden District. The bottom panel had to be removed and glued back together. One of the rosettes was missing and we had to carve one to match the others. In refinishing the door, all the molding had to be carefully removed and the glass taken out. When we refinish, we do not dip the material in chemicals. Instead we scrape and sand. Our customers were delighted with their refinished door.

The windows below are the original windows in a house that is over a hundred years old. We removed the sashes, scraped and painted them, and then cut glass to fit these non-standard windows. Of the seventeen windows in this house, twelve have been restored or made new to match the existing style. The rest are in process.
